Description – Armed or unarmed trees or shrubs with greyish-brown bark. Leaves bipinnate. Flowers small, yellowish, in dense spikes. Pods yellow, straight or falcate, flat or cylindrical.

Chemical Constituents- Tree yields a gum. Pods and roots contain ellagic acid glycoside. alkaloid juliflorine, julifloridine. Pods contain flavonoid patulitrin, alkaloid juliflorine, julifloricine. julifloridine.
