Description – Twining shrub with yellowish, corky, deeply cracked bark. Leaves ovate-lanceolate, base cordate. Flowers greenish-white, in cymes. Follicle woody, turgid.

Chemical Constituents- Stem and roots contain waxy material mainly of aliphatic esters, sterols like stigmasterol. Tubers contain fructosan of inulin type.

Use – Plant stimulant and restorative. Leaves and roots used in skin affections. Plant useful in habitual abortion
